Oct. 17, 1972: Born as Marshall Bruce Mathers II (later to be known as Eminem) in St. Joseph, Missouri to Debbie Mathers.
June 17, 1973: Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. leaves. His father left the family shortly after, when Eminem was only 18 months-old. His mother, Deborah R. Nelson Mathers-Briggs, had to raise him soley on her own.
1982: His mother sues Dort Elementary School in Roseville, where DeAngelo Bailey, a classmate, supposedly has beaten her son so bad every day that it has led to him experiencing serious headaches and a tendancy for anti-social behaviour.
1983: His Uncle Ronnie gives him a copy of Ice T's Reckless, and after listening to it, he decided to become a rapper.
1986: Attends Lincoln High School in Warren and begins dating Kimberly Scott.
1988: Pens his first rhyme that talks smack about LL Cool J, who's actually one of his favorite rappers.
1989: Drops out of Lincoln High School.
1990: Gets shot by a neighborhood gang.
1992: His uncle Ronnie, more like an older brother to him, uses a shotgun to commit suicide. It was Ronnie who introduced him to the music of hip-hop. His death has a profound effect on him.
1993: Begins making appearances at Detroit's St. Andrew's Hall which was located in the back-in-the-day Hip-Hop Shop. He is the only white rapper.
1994: On his 20th birthday, his mom accuses him of assault and battery.
Dec. 25, 1995: His high school sweetheart Kimberly Scott gives birth to Hailie Jade.
1996: Releases debut album Infinite but few people notice. Those who do, accuse him of ripping off other artists. Those who don't accuse him of plagiarism, and mock his little-too-late anti-Gulf War lyrics. He sells about five hundred copies from the backseat of his car.
1996: Due to the lack of record sales, he works as a cook.
1997: Slim Shady Ep was released.
Oct. 1997: Wins second place at the Rap Olympics in Los Angeles.
Feb. 1998: Signs on with Dr. Dre's Aftermath imprint.
Mar. 1998: Timothy White, a Billboard editor, uses his Music to My Ears column to slam Eminem's lyrics.

June 4, 2000: Is arrested for the altercation in the Royal Oak parking lot and is charged with gun possession and gets three years probation. Supposedly he pistol-whips the man.
July 2000: His wife tries to commit suicide.
Aug. 2000: Files for divorce from Kimberly Mathers (Scott).
Aug. 2000: Yet again his mom sues him for a total of one million dollars but ends up getting cheeseburger change.
Dec. 2000: He and Kimberly make up.
Jan. 2001: Receives four Grammy nominations and because of this, women and gay groups protest due to the fact they are greatly offended by The Marshall Mathers LP.
Feb. 14, 2001: Pleads guilty to carrying a weapon without a permit stemming back to the Royal Oak parking lot where he supposedly pistol-whipped a man for kissing his wife.
Feb. 21, 2001: Performs the song "Stan" with Elton John at the Grammy Awards ceremony and gives him a great big hug.
Mar. 2001: This time his wife files for divorce.

Aug. 5, 2003: DeAngelo Bailey, the school bully who gave Eminem countless beatings, is now sueing Eminem for his song "Brain Damage" because it has ruined his reputation and any chance to jumpstart his own music career.
Oct. 17, 2003: Says of Britney Spears and her music "I think it's corny as hell, but whatever. I can't knock her for doing her thing. She sucks and she can't sing."
Nov. 19, 2003: At a news conference, TheSource magazine plays a music cassette way back from 1993 that has a young Eminem singing racist slurs against black women, calling them "stupid". This tape was made, according to him, after he had just broken up with a black girlfriend.
Dec. 8, 2003: United States Secret Service confirms it is looking into allegations that Eminem's song "We as Americans" is, in actuality, a death threat toward President Bush.
Oct. 4, 2004: After releasing the music video "Just Lose It", a song from his upcoming new album, Michael Jackson calls the Los Angeles-based Steve Harvey radio show and informs the public he is not impressed with the parodies involving his child-molestation charges, his battle with rhinoplasty, and most importantly, the Flaming Hair incident way back in 1984 during the filming of the Pepsi commercial.
Oct. 22, 2004: By now, thanks to Michael Jackson and others, many stations ban the "Just Lose It" video. However, MTV doesn't, and thanks to Michael Jackson and MTV, the video becomes the most requested video on Total Request Live.
